The Perfect Hard Boiled Egg

Making hard boiled eggs in our Instant Pot has changed our lives for the better. We have used all kinds of methods and thought we had perfected this process on the stove top, we were wrong. Let’s be honest most the time they were perfect but occasionally we would have that batch of eggs that just wouldn’t peel nice and easily. We all know how frustrating this can be! Using the Insta Pot is not only easy, but so much quicker than the stove top. What we love the most is how they come out perfectly EVERY single time!

The method is easy. All you need is an Instant Pot or a pressure cooker will work out just fine. You can hard boil as many eggs as you’d like and they’ll all turn out perfectly.

Lets get started. Use the metal basket or the insert that came with your Instant Pot, place it directly on the bottom of your pot. Place all of the eggs in the insert, this makes them slightly elevated out of the water. Set the temperature to high pressure for 5 minutes is all and walk away. When you hear the beep, let it release naturally for 5 minutes, we like to set a timer. Next, do a quick release to allow the rest of the steam out of your pot.

Here is where the magic begins! Immediately place the eggs in an ice bath, this allows the egg shells to actually pull away from the fleshy white of the eggs and is a necessary part. Let them sit in there until completely cooled all the way. If you notice the eggs are warming up the water, simply add more ice to the process.

Here we go with the perfectly peeled egg, that is so easy to remove! We had to make two batches for a recipe yesterday and each time they turned out perfectly, thank you Instant Pot!

    1. I didn’t have that problem and I did 120 eggs yesterday. Ive heard room temperature eggs are less likely to crack.
